Dr. Tito Karnavian

Minister of Home Affairs of Indonesia and security studies expert

Tito Karnavian, Ph.D., is a distinguished Indonesian statesman, retired four-star police general, and globally recognized expert in counterterrorism and security studies. He currently serves as the Minister of Home Affairs of Indonesia, following his tenure as the 23rd Chief of the Indonesian National Police. He earned his Ph.D. in Strategic Studies from the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University, alongside advanced degrees from the University of Exeter and Massey University.

Throughout his career, Dr. Karnavian has held key leadership roles in Indonesia's security architecture, including Head of the National Counterterrorism Agency, Chief of Jakarta Metropolitan Police, and Chief of Papua Regional Police. As Minister of Home Affairs, he has focused on strengthening governance, improving coordination between central and regional governments, and advancing policy reforms that support national stability and development.
