Dr. Ahmad El-Muhammady

Ahmad El-Muhammady, Ph.D., is a prominent Malaysian academic and security expert specializing in counterterrorism, radicalization, and deradicalization studies. He serves as an Assistant Professor at the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization, where he also leads initiatives in responsible research and innovation. His academic work focuses on extremist ideology, rehabilitation of militant detainees, and violent extremism dynamics in Southeast Asia.

Dr. El-Muhammady has worked extensively with global institutions, including collaborations with the United Nations Development Programme, international counterterrorism centers, and governmental agencies across Southeast Asia and beyond. He has contributed to policy advisory, training, and capacity-building initiatives and frequently provides expert insights on terrorism, cybersecurity, and ideological threats in international media and academic forums.
